"The cuts may not seem visible to you, but I can see the thin white lines and remember when every single one of them happened, and why…"
"And you keep thinking to yourself, “maybe one day it gets easier.”
But suddenly it’s 1 year and 6 months later and you realize that you’ve said that same thing to yourself for 1 year and 6 months.
-it still hasn’t gotten easier."
Depression.
Depression isn’t always sadness.
It’s also feeling numb at 3am, but smiling and laughing with friends at 3pm.
It’s not being able to get out of bed even thought you were fine the day before.
It’s also not eating because you’re not hungry, but it’s also over eating because you’re bored and feel empty.
It’s also loving too hard or not loving at all.
Depression isn’t a constant feeling of sadness, it can be hidden by happiness.
Just because you are smiling, doesn’t mean your feelings of sadness aren’t valid.
